How to Sell Wordpress Themes on BuySellWordpress

BuySellWordpress provides a great place for authors to showcase and sell their Wordpress themes and earn money on every item sold. It is an awesome chance for professional authors to bring more exposure to their products as well as for beginners to get noticed.

Become a Seller

BuySellWordpress welcomes everyone who has skills in producing functional, qualitative and custom Wordpress templates, and wants to make money through the site. To become a Seller you need Sign In to your account and click "Become Seller" (bottom left) or Register if you don’t have an account yet.

Once you submit your Become Seller request it will take up to 48 hours for the administrators to review and process it. Once your request has been processed, you will get an automatic notification sent to your email and member account.

Upload your products

Once your Become Seller request has been approved, you are ready to go and start adding the products to your shop. Here is step by step guide for you to follow:

• 1. Login to your personal account on BuySellWordpress
• 2. Hit "Add new Product" under My Account -> Shop
• 3. Carefully fill all the fields on the form. Try to be clear, accurate and short in your sayings.
• 4. Hit "Submit" and await the approval from administrator to your email and profile page.

We recommend you to read these basic products submission tips before you file your Wordpress theme package and submit to the site.

Products statuses

There are four statuses for your products in the shop:

• - Active Products
• - Pending Upgrades
• - Pending Products
• - Declined Products

When you submit your Wordpress theme to the site it goes to a queue and is being marked as Pending. It usually takes our administrators up to 24-48 hours to review items. If the submitted theme fulfills the requirements, the administrator approves it and the product becomes Active. Active products are automatically added to the collection and are on sale. If administrator rejects the submitted product, the item becomes Declined. You can also see the rejection reason when you view Declined products. You need apply necessary corrections to your Declined submission and hit Resubmit to resubmit the product to the site.

We tend to keep only good stuff on our marketplace, and that’s why we appreciate customers’ feedback and authors’ activity. When there is a need to amend a product which is on sale (say, adjust the code, design, functionality; upgrade it; fix the errors or mistakes, etc), you need go to Active product section, edit the product and hit Resubmit. Once you do that, we will create a copy of the product with proposed adjustments and send that to Pending Upgrades section. Once administrator approves the adjustments, the original version of active product will be replaced with upgraded one.

Start selling and making money

Once your product is approved by administrator it will be added to the directory listing automatically. From this moment and on your product is on sale for the overall community. The commission is credited to your seller’s account on every item purchased from your shop. There are two types of commissions available on BuySellWordpress which you may read about in the Licenses and Commissions section. You can track your sales and commissions, as well as manage the products in your shop from your personal account page.

Products Support

We are aimed to provide only high-quality and relevant Wordpress themes within our marketplace. Despite this fact, we truly welcome our customers’ feedbacks and criticism on the products and kindly ask the authors to be tolerant on this matter. It’s highly recommended for our authors to keep track of one’s products’ feedbacks and take them into consideration when submitting new items or upgrades. It is in seller’s sole discretion whether to provide any further help, support, upgrade, update or amendments to the submitted Wordpress themes or not.

Licenses and Commissions

License: There are two license types for the items to be sold under:

• - Non-exclusive
• - Exclusive

Selling items non-exclusively gives you an opportunity to sell/list the same items on other marketplaces, websites, directories, etc. Selling items exclusively means that the following items are not (or ever been) listed/sold on any other marketplaces, websites, directories, etc.

Commission: There is a fixed commission rate on the Wordpress templates being sold non-exclusively, and it is 20%. For the items sold exclusively, commission starts from 50% and may go up to 70% depending on the total sales* amount.

Earnings and balance

Your balance on BuySellWordpress reflects your month's earnings combined with spendings through the site. The total earnings are calculated as a sum for the earnings of the products sold exclusively and the products sold non-exclusively. You can track your sales from Sales section in your account, and your payments and withdrawals from the Payments sections in your account.

Getting Paid

The payments on BuySellWordpress are processed at the beginning of each calendar month, and in the case when your account balance reaches the threshold of $100.

So at the beginning of each month, if your account balance from the previous month reaches $100, you will be paid out on the 1st - 5th of the current month. If your account balance from the previous month hasn't reached $100, we will roll the amount from balance over the next month, until the payment threshold is reached.

Specify the PayPal email account to withdraw your earnings on the Billing Info tab at your account page.
